Only one area of the body is recommended per session. Doing multiple areas of the body risks putting too much extra strain on your lymphatic system as it works to get rid of the stubborn fat. Common areas include abdominal area, upper thighs (inner and outer), and upper arms. Depending on the size and amount of fat cells in the area, 6-8 sessions are typically recommended for optimal results. One session is apx. 45 minutes to an hour.
Body Sculpting
What You Need To Know
Body Sculpting generally consists of a combination of different modalities to reshape and contour the body. Here at Soothing Remedy, we use Lipo Cavitation, Radio Frequency Technology, Red Light Therapy, and Wood Therapy to really cater the sessions to your specific body goals. Look below to see some of the differences between the modalities and what they are best used for.
What is it?
-
Lipo Cavitation
Also known as Ultrasonic Cavitation. This technique uses low-frequency ultrasound waves to break down stubborn fat cells, causing the fat to liquefy. The fatty liquid is then excreted naturally through your body’s lymphatic system.
-
Radio Frequency and Red Light Therapy
At Soothing Remedy, our Radio Frequency (RF) comes with built in red light therapy. RF is used to heat the deep layers of skin, stimulating elastin and collagen production resulting in tighter, and healthier skin. Red light therapy aids in this stimulation and can also help other problems like acne or wrinkles.
-
Wood Therapy and Lymphatic Drainage
Wood Therapy tools are used to further break up and disrupt the fat cells, as well as stimulate the lymphatic system to carry the liquefied fat to the proper channels to be excreted by the body. Manual lymphatic drainage may also be incorporated for further stimulation.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
How often should I do this?
It is recommended to leave at least 72 hours in between sessions to allow your lymphatic system to flush out everything from the previous session. I recommend sessions once a week for 6-8 weeks. Some people benefit from up to 12 sessions, but after that your body requires a 2 month break to let your lymphatic system recover.
-
Am I a good candidate?
If you are looking to tone up some stubborn areas with no pain and little downtime or just tighten up some loose skin after a weight loss journey, then yes!! ….Unless you have one of the following conditions:
Metal implants such as pacemakers or IUDs, skin infections, kidney or liver disease, on going chemo or radiation treatments, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. *It is not recommended to receive this treatment during menstruation
-
How much weight can I lose by doing this?
Body sculpting is not a weight loss solution. However, it can help those stubborn areas of fat by reducing the size of the fat cells themselves. It will not get rid of the fat cells themselves, but instead it can help tone areas such as the stomach or thighs and reduce the appearance of cellulite.
-
How long does it take to see results?
Some results may be noticeable immediately, though full results will happen over a few days as your body excretes the fat. Again, multiple sessions are recommended for optimal results.
-
What are the risks and side effects?
Non-surgical procedures have minimal risks, but potential side effects can include temporary discomfort, swelling, or bruising. Surgical procedures, like liposuction, carry more risks, including infection and scarring.
-
Are the results permanent?
Fat cells are not destroyed during the process. They are emptied and therefore smaller, but can still be affected by an unhealthy lifestyle. Maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle is crucial for long-term results.
